A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE MAKES TREATMENT POSSIBLE

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is one level down from partial hospitalization. As a patient in our IOP program, you receive three hours of treatment per day, three to five days per week.

This program works when you need intensive treatment for your alcohol or substance use disorder, but you do not need – or are unable to commit – to the six hours a day required for our partial hospitalization program, or do not need the 24/7 support and monitoring offered in our residential treatment program. At the beginning of your IOP, you collaborate with our clinical staff to create a customized, integrated treatment plan that includes individual, group, and family therapy, addiction education workshops, community support, and our full range of experiential activities. Your plan is flexible, and changes as you grow in recovery to accommodate new needs as they arise.

YOUR TREATMENT PLAN

Every path to addiction is different. That means treatment plans for addiction need to address those differences. Your story may include past trauma, rocky family and personal relationships, or mental illness. It may not include any of those at all. We learn the details of your personal journey and design your plan to give the best possible chance at sustained recovery.

Your day of treatment in our intensive outpatient program will include some, but not all, of the following treatments, therapies, or treatment topics:

The length of your intensive outpatient program depends on your progress in recovery, your unique needs as identified in your treatment plan, the input of your counselors, and other factors such as insurance coverage and personal commitments. You might continue receiving treatment via our virtual outpatient program, or you may to start the next phase of your journey without additional treatment.

Your next step depends on you, where you are, and where you want to go.

In all cases, however, you work with your treatment team to craft an aftercare plan before you complete your intensive outpatient program. Your aftercare plan includes a list of recovery activities that work best for you, phone numbers for therapists and sponsors, and recommendations for additional community resources to explore. Most importantly, your aftercare plan connects you to the Beacon House alumni community. Our alumni network is strong, active, and committed to service. With alumni support – and your continued effort – you can continue develop relapse prevention techniques, enhance your coping skills, and thrive in recovery.
