WHY COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUPS?

Recovery support groups help anyone in recovery from an alcohol or substance use disorder. You share your experiences, thoughts, and feelings in a safe environment with recovery peers. When you finish a treatment program at Beacon House, you can immediately join our alumni recovery community. If you don’t live nearby, our staff will help you find the right group for you.

RECOVERY SUPPORT AT BEACON HOUSE

Our support groups provide a warm and caring atmosphere where you can talk openly and honestly about any and all recovery topics. Think of it as continuing education. Everyone in recovery is involved in an ongoing process of discovery. Our support groups keep you engaged in the process, and help you create a successful and lasting recovery. Our recovery support group services include:

  • Long-term group therapy
  • Weekly alumni groups
  • Weekly 12-step meetings
  • Support for families
  • Experiential activities that are fun, challenging, and sober-friendly
  • Virtual Alumni Meetings

There is always hope here at Beacon House. After you finish one of our programs, we want you to stay connected with us. We can help you, and as time passes, you can help people brand new in recovery. It’s a positive, people-first, mutually reinforcing cycle of good will, support, and growth.

THE BENEFITS OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT

The first and most important benefit of a community support group is knowing you are not alone. There are millions of people out there who have entered and completed treatment. Most attend community support programs to enhance their recovery. Knowing there are people out there like you, who are committed to a life in recovery, means you always have somewhere to go – and someone to talk to – when the going gets tough. Other benefits of community support programs include:

  • Learning new ideas and insights on how to stay on track in the recovery lifestyle
  • Getting support as you work through triggers
  • Experiencing accountability that only others in recovery can offer
  • Helping others in recovery stay sober, healthy, and on track

When you enter treatment at Beacon House, you become part of our recovery community. We’ll treat you like family – and we know you’ll benefit from the decades of experience we have. Our alumni community is supportive, active, and always there to help a friend in need.
